Vilnius Airport (VNO)
For most international travellers it is best to go to Vilnius airport (IATA airport code VNO), "Oro uostas" in Lithuanian. Many international airlines have cheap direct flights there. Vilnius airport is very close to the city. Direct buses operate to the city centre as well as the bus and railway station: Just take bus number 1 of the Vilnuius city public transport. For schedules of buses check the timetable. If you arrive on a working day look under "darbo diena", Saturdays are "šestadienis", Sundays and holidays are "sekmadienis ir šventine diena". Tickets can be bought at the driver for EUR 1,- and EUR 0,50 for students. Bus 1 will stop at the railway station which is close to Vilnius bus station. Vilnius bus station ("Vilniaus Autobusu Stotis") is situated 150 m from the railway station to the North-west (hard to miss) up a small hill. The name of the stop is "Stotis". Travel time is about 15 minutes. Please note that are 2 kinds of buses in Vilnius, the ordinary ones and the electrical "trolleybuses". Confusingly, they have the same numbers, but "Bus 1" goes a different route than "Trolleybus 1". From the airport to the bus station, the ordinary bus "1" operates.

In addition the Company TOKS operates an Airport Express bus. Timetables can be found here. Also that costs EUR 1,- Infos and bookings are available here.
