A glaciological, hydrological, geochemical and microbiological study of subglacial lakes in Icelandic glaciers. A thermal drill is used to penetrate the subglacial lakes, and samples obtained for geochemical and microbiological analyses, which will hopefully increase our knowledge of these extreme environments and their habitability. . |
