Programme

The programme of the summer school includes the following parts:

  • a lectured part held at the University of Iceland, Reykjavik (4.5 days)

  • an excursion to inner Iceland (Hrauneyjar) with trips to glaciers, geysers, hot spring areas, lava fields and Mars-like areas. Also, places important to Icelandic history and culture will be visited.

  • a lab course with microbiological (hot water extremophiles) and geochemical investigations into hot spring water will also be organised.

Participants will be able to present their own research in a poster session at the beginning of the event.

A detailed programme of the summer school is listed below and can also be downloaded as a .doc file. Enquiries about the programme can be directed to Wolf D. Geppert,  Physics Department, Stockholm University, phone ++ 46-8-55378649, fax ++46-8-55378601, email wgeppert@hotmail.com.
