Registration Registration will be in the lobby of Teneguia Princess Hotel on September 23rd from 16:00 to 19:00 and after dinner from 20:30. Late-arriving lecturers can get their material during coffee breaks. Access to the the venue By air The best way is first to fly into La Palma Airport close to Sta. Cruz de La Palma (IATA code: SPC). There are good and cheap connections to Santa Cruz from Madrid (Iberia), London (Thomas Cook), Frankfurt, Brussels, Dsseldorf, Berlin (Air Berlin) and Amsterdam (KLM). For people arriving at 23 September we will organise transportation to the course venue (Teneguia Princess) Hotel. Also a shuttle will be organised from the course venue to the airport on 3 October. Sometimes cheap flights are offered via Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) and Teneriffa. Herewith one has to take into account that most charter planes arrive at the Reina Sofia Airport at Tenerife Sur (TFS). However, flights to La Palma usually leave from Tenerifa Norte Airport (TFN). There are shuttle buses betwen these two airports, but they take around an hour. Infos about the shuttle (Route 343) can be found here. So it is better to fly via Gran Canaria airport at Las Palmas (LPA). Inter-island flight are operated by the airlines Canary Fly and Binter Canarias. They offer frequent connections to all Canary Islands (for some you might have to change at Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (LPA) or Tenerife Norte (TFN) For people arriving at 23 September we will organise transportation to the course venue (Teneguia Princess) Hotel. Also a shuttle will be organised from the course venue to the airport on 3 October. In case we you arrive and/or depart at another day there are 2 possibilities. (a) You can take a taxi (about EUR 50,-), travel time about 30 minutes. (b) By bus the travel is cheaper (EUR 6,-). You have to take bus 500 to Santa Cruz Benahoare busstation (close to the harbour at the entrance of the town). Then you have to take bus 200 and 201 to Los Canarios (Fuencaliente). Ironically, you will pass close to the airport again. In Los Canarios (Fuencaliente) exit at the first station in the village (close to the tourist office). From there take bus 203 directly to the Tebneguia Princess hotel. Total travel time about 2 hours. Please do not mix up La Palma (IATA code SPC) with Palma de Mallorca or Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) when booking your flight!. You would otherwise end up on an island around 100 or 1000 miles from the course venue. Transfer from the airport to the venue There will be a bus transport at 15:00 from La Palma Airport to the meeting venue for those flying in to La Palma on 23rd September 14:20 or 14:30 (we will wait for those flights if necessary). We will be waiting holding a sign with the logo of TaxiLaPalma.com or the summer school. I will very probably be present when the people arrive on 23rd September at 14:20/14:30. By boat
This is only an option if you plan a longe holiday before and after the course and want to visit several islands of the Canarian archipelago (and might want to take your car with you). Trasmediteranea ferries offers both inter-island connections and ferries to the Spanish Mainland (Cadiz). Travel from/to Cadiz takes 2 nights and a day though. Schedules and prices can be found at the Trasmediteranea ferries website. Arriving at the harbour at Sta Cruz de La Palma, you have to take bus 200 and 201 to Los Canarios (Fuencaliente), travel time 45 minutes. In Los Canarios (Fuencaliente) exit at the first station in town (close to the tourist office). From there take bus 203 directly to the Teneguia Princess hotel (15 minutes travel time). By own car
